Making a Difference
Average waiting time prior to receiving an organ can stretch into years. Based on OTS’ conversations, transplant professionals estimate that if everyone who would benefit from a transplant was permitted access to the waiting list, the list would be three times the number it is today, or more than 285,000 Americans.

Preserving Hope, Extending Life
Time could open the door for making a donor. Imagine if a nationaly, not just a local donor list was available for transplant recipients.
The decision to become an organ donor is a very personal one, and we are committed
to improving the science of organ preservation so that organs donated by you or
your loved ones are used as efficiently as possible.
The longer organs are well-preserved, the more chance you, as a donor will be making
a difference in someone’s life. Organ Transport System’s technology, including its
LifeCradle® product line, aims to enhance the amount of time an organ may be kept
and transported before reaching the recipient. As hundreds of thousands of individuals
wait up to years to receive the organs they are waiting for, time is of the essence.
Currently, while donors may donate up to 8 organs, the average organ utilization
today is only 3.06 organs per deceased donor. Only 27% of the donated hearts are
transplanted and only 9% of the lungs. This is a start, but advanced technology
may be able to bring those numbers closer together. In fact, we think we can do
it ourselves.
Organ Transport Systems’ technology is focused on improving the lives of patients,
while making the sacrifices of donors and their families, as well as dedicated transplant
teams, well worth it.
